Your new role:
Join our team as a Senior Systems Engineer! Responsible for specific project phases, managing and delivering all systems engineering activities against the project contract. The Senior System Engineer will plan, schedule, engineer and manage assigned work packages to meet client expectations regarding design, budget, and schedule. In particular, we are seeking candidates with experience in Turret & Weapons as well as Chassis & Hull.
Your primary areas of responsibilities:
• Working in a team environment with our clients, other engineers and staff in order to ensure the smooth delivery of project requirements.
• Support the project engineering team to meet the projects objectives.
• Support the development, preparation, and on-time delivery of all the project engineering artefacts.
• Ensure the project engineering activities are completed within agreed schedules and budgets.
• Ensuring that all engineering activities are conducted in accordance with the process and the plan.
• Conduct regular progress meetings in addition to design/technical meetings and provide reports on systems engineering activities status.
• Lead the development of requirements ensuring they are maintained, and controlled.
• Ensure all requirements are traced, both upwards and downwards to higher and lower-level requirements and to verification procedures.
• Lead the management and maintaining the FBL, ABL and PBL.
• Ensuring that the Mission/Training and Support System requirements are aligned, without any conflict.
• Undertake systems engineering activities including requirements analysis and management, system safety, integration, trade studies, configuration audits, verification and validation activities.
• Assist in the development, preparation and on-time delivery of all Engineering DIDs and supporting activities.
• Conduct risk analysis to ensure that key risks are identified, monitored and mitigated.
• Work as part of the engineering and broader Hanwha team to deliver quality engineering outcomes.
• Work with all contributing parties, including our subcontractors, to ensure the quality of all deliverables and exchanges with the customer are exceptional.
• Other duties as required by the supervisor.
About you
As an ideal candidate you will have:
•Experience working in a similar role in either Turret & Weapons or Chassis & Hull is desirable.
•Professional experience in Systems Engineering roles within Defence industry, preferably based around delivering complex large-scale programs.
• Technical skills: Strong knowledge of Mechanical principles, methodologies, and best practices.
• Knowledge with military standards and regulations related to vehicle development is desirable.
• Leadership skills: Proven ability to influence technical and project engineers. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
• Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to effectively manage relationships and positively resolve disputes with internal/external stakeholders.
• Attention to detail: Meticulous approach to work, with the ability to identify potential risks and issues proactively. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Time management: Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work under tight deadlines without compromising quality.
Mandatory:
• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering.
Desirable:
• Meets Engineers Australia criteria for Chartered Professional Engineer
• Post Graduate qualifications in Systems Engineering
