As an integral part of our out of home care team as a Service Leader, you'll be encouraged to utilise your passion and skills to support our young people to grow, develop, heal and feel empowered. If you want to make a difference in the lives of our most vulnerable young people, this is the job for you.

Let’s make a meaningful difference, together.

Your part in our UnitingCare Community team

At UnitingCare Queensland we care for and support children, young people and their families across Queensland to live safe, healthy and productive lives through the delivery of services that are flexible and responsive to their individual needs. UnitingCare Queensland is currently seeking to appoint a Service Leader to join our Toowoomba Out of Home Care team on a full-time basis (76 hours per fortnight).

Supplementing this you will ensure our service is adhering to practice and therapeutic frameworks to ensure quality outcomes for the young people we support.

What makes a difference for us?

You will have demonstrated experience working with children and youth within a therapeutic care environment who have suffered abuse or neglect and are on statutory child protection or juvenile justice orders.

Supplementing this you will present the following:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Social Work, Psychology or Social Science).
  • Have strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build effortless rapport with young people who may demonstrate dissociative behaviours due to experiencing trauma.
  • A Current Blue Card (Working with Children)
  • A QLD Driver's Licence
  • First Aid and CPR Qualifications
  • Willing to undergo a personal history check under the provision of the child protection Act 1999 in relation to licensing Care Services.
  • Willingness to be part of a regular OnCall Roster.

Please note that our service operated 24/7 and will require you to be flexible to the requirements of the service within these hours.

What makes a difference for you?

At UnitingCare we are leaders in crisis response, the protection of vulnerable children, financial resilience and family wellbeing. Our Family and Child Services team work passionately across Queensland to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
