Purpose of the role
The Service Providers and Vendors team sits within the Transformation and Investments arm of the AMP business. As a Service Provider and Business Operations Analyst yyou will be responsible for supporting the Service Providers and Vendors team in:
Ensuring all entries for the payments of invoices are processed on time and variances to budget investigated.
Assist with market data and research costs and ensure these are approved and budgeted correctly.
Communicating with vendors to chase up invoices and manage queries from internal stakeholders.
Act as a “gatekeeper” for requested services with internal stakeholders.
Managing relationship with service providers and vendors to ensure internal stakeholders receive services in line with service level agreements, issues are escalated, incidents are managed and investigated with external service providers.
Provide subject matter expertise on the use of vendors and service providers within the business and actively pursue value from existing contracts.
Main Areas of focus
Prepare and process all vendor invoices including market data and research.
Assist with monthly management of market data and research costs to ensure they are correctly distributed to the various business units (including the payment of invoices, preparation of monthly journals for prepayments and accruals, allocation to appropriate business units)
Assisting with preparation of quarterly reporting on all research and software spend across AMP Investments and checking against forecast vs. actual to identify variances.
Assisting with annual budget for research services and market data
Assist Business Operations Manager with preparation for vendor negotiations on contract renewals for Research and Market data licenses.
Preparation of bi-annual Portfolio Managers listing – ensuring our systems reflect the correct PM data.
Liaising with AMP stakeholders to obtain relevant data and information.
The successful applicant will have:
Preferably has experience within the financial services industry (3-5 years)
An understanding of funds management and financial services vendors such as market data, software, research, and market data suppliers would be highly regarded.
Accounting qualifications are preferred but not essential. Hands on experience with accounting such as accounts payable, amortisation, invoicing, month end process is essential.
Experience with cost management
High level of delivery focus and accuracy in processing
Communication skills e.g., internal stakeholders, external vendors
Developing problem solving and analytical skills and search out for answers.
