Services Assistants (Cleaning & Laundry)

Christian Homes Tasmania Ltd. (CHT) are not-for-profit provider of aged care services including residential care, community care and independent living housing options. CHT are committed to excellence in all aspects of our care and services.
We are seeking experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated Services Assistants with a passion for working with the elderly to support them in their home within a residential setting to join our teams at Hawthorn Village in Blackmans Bay and Snug Village in Snug, Tasmania.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Treating clients with dignity and respect and supporting them to maintain their identity;
- Supporting clients with respect to their independence and making informed choices about their services and living the life they choose;
- Adhere to infection control practices and procedures relevant to the position;
- Undertake cleaning tasks in resident rooms, including but not limited to, vacuuming, mopping, damp dusting, cleaning of bathrooms, in-line with infection control practices;
- Undertake cleaning tasks in spaces other than resident rooms, including but not limited to, vacuuming, mopping, damp dusting, cleaning of kitchenettes and amenities;
- An ability to successfully contribute towards team work, fostering a positive and progressive workplace culture;
- Complete reporting and documentation based on CHT policies and procedures;
- Knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards and the accreditation process;
- Adaptability and flexibility including the ability to deal with change;
- A high level of organisational and prioritisation skills and an ability to multi-task;
- A commitment to quality continuous improvement;
- A commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD):
Essential requirements of the position are:
- A minimum of one years’ experience in a cleaning or laundry position;
- Certificate II in Health Services or equivalent or a willingness to undertake this qualification
- A valid and satisfactory NDIS Worker Screening Check e.g. Working with Vulnerable People Check with NDIS Endorsement or a willingness to undertake one;
