Shared Management works in conjunction with the UDirect that is part of Avivo but is designed to sit separate to service delivery. We work to support participants to design and implement their plan in a way that works for them so, although we do refer to Avivo, we also refer to a variety of other providers. Plan management works with NDIS participants to manage their funding. We can work with participants who have self, plan or agency managed budgets.
About the role
This position is a 'hands-on' role, the ideal candidate will have outstanding people skills, strong analytical skills, and a sound working knowledge of National Disability Insurance Scheme and WA industrial relations, enabling you to engage with our customers, their families, internal and external stakeholders, funders, and other providers. You will be comfortable working autonomously and have demonstrated ability in making decisions within an environment which is constantly evolving.
You will work collaboratively and flexibly within a small team and partner with our customers and their families, ensuring they have the support and resources to directly engage their own supports, assisting them to have choice and control over the supports they receive.
Duties include
- Developing and increasing the capacity of customers who directly engage their own support staff.
- Linking customers with resources and explaining responsibilities for privately engaging staff, including Industrial Relations, Taxation, Superannuation, Insurances etc.
- Working with customers and their families to plan and review arrangements for self-directing their supports and services.
- Ensuring customers have access to accurate and current financial information regarding their individual budgets and providing detailed budget projections.
- Attending regular meetings with customers and relevant stakeholders.
- Supporting customers to understand the NDIS price limits for their providers /suppliers.
- Providing information, advice and templates to ensure both parties meet National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Quality Safeguarding commission requirements.
Selection criteria
- Previous experience in a similar role of 2 years or more (essential)
- Previous experience of working within the NDIS.
- Ability to think and work flexibly in partnership with customers and team.
- Demonstrated skills and knowledge in planning and managing resources and budgets.
- Commitment and skills in providing excellent support to customers
- Understanding and commitment to working with communities to welcome and include all people as valued citizens
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, numeracy, and literacy
- Strong IT skills including ability to use portals, systems, and document relevant information
