We are seeking a talented Sheet Metal Fabricator / Welder reporting to our Production Manager.
About the Role:
As a Sheet Metal Fabricator / Welder at Thermoline, you will play a pivotal role in our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Folding flat sheet metal parts in a CNC press brake
- Ability to cut galvanised and stainless tubes on a drop saw
- TIG welding of 0.9 - 1.2mm stainless steel
- Some MIG welding of steel tube
- Assembly of stainless, colorbond and aluminium sheet metal parts to build products
- Using rivets and glues to fix parts together
- Cutting fibreglass insulation
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including attendance and punctuality
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
- Possess a mechanical aptitude and hands-on approach to work, with exceptional planning and time management skills
Qualifications and Experience:
- Ideally, you have a qualification in light metal fabrication or demonstrated work experience
- 2+ years of relevant experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of sheet metal design and principles
- Experience in light gauge stainless steel TIG welding (0.9 - 1.2mm)
- Be physically capable of occasionally lifting heavy and awkward cabinets
- Experience working in a manufacturing or assembly environment
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles is highly desirable
- Australian Residents Only - You should be reasonably located to Wetherill Park
