Due to continued growth in our business in Australia, we are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our operations team in Perth as a trainee officer for Shipping and Logistics.
This exciting opportunity with a leading shipping agency for a junior /trainee officer to train in all facets of vessel operations and Logistics. From attending to vessels and Master's requirements, to the preparation of ships and cargo documentation. Liaisons with the relevant port authorities and service providers. To learning and be exposed to aspects of logistics. From tasks associated for full import and export operations for air and sea freight, reporting and handling transhipments to warehousing. This full-time trainee role for a Shipping and Logistics Operations Officer who will be reporting to the Port Manager/Logistics Manager.
The key responsibilities for the role will include but will not be limited to training in the following:
- Handling all facets of vessel operations as a shipping agent as required by different Ship operators /Principals
- Preparation of different Documentation for the ships and cargo
- Handling reporting and transhipment entries through ICS platform.
- Handling day to day tasks of full import and export operations air freight and sea freight
- Arranging timely receipt and connection of ship spares for vessels for vessels
- Fuel import calculations for Customs purposes
- Reporting
- Invoicing
- Warehousing

Applicant should:
• Have an MSIC or be eligible to apply
• Have a Valid Driver's Licence
• Have or be eligible to apply for a Forklift Licence
• Be Computer Literate
• Good accuracy and attention to detail
• Have Good Communication Skills (Verbal and Written)
• Team Oriented
Candidates will need to be flexible with working hours as there is a requirement to work weekends and times outside of usual office hours.
Experience within the Ship Agency business is preferred but not essential, training will be provided to the right motivated candidate.
