We're looking for an experienced Shipping/Boarding Operations Officer to join our company at our office in Port Kembla, NSW.

The roleThis role reports to our National Operations Manager - East Coast and is responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:
- Attending to bulk vessels in the Port of Port Kembla and surrounds
- Control and reporting of vessel movements within the port
- Ensuring customs and Port Shipping Terminal requirements are met
- Data entry and maintenance of vessel files, including inputting, updating, and maintaining relevant information in our internal databases
- Liaison with overseas and local principles on a daily basis
- Attending to general customer enquiries
- Provide support for other offices or locations upon request
This role requires some weekends and out-of-hours work on a roster basis which is customary for the industry.
Selection criteria- Industry knowledge and experience within the shipping industry is an essential requirement for this role
- Good MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills
- Good communication skills with a focus on customer service and building strong relationships with key stakeholders within the business
- Reliable team player and ability to work autonomously
- Currently holds (or is eligible to obtain) a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
- Valid C-Class Driver's Licence with no restrictions
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and the willingness to comply with State Government and Australian Health Advice
- Permanent work rights with no restrictions
Selected candidate must complete and pass a medical and drug & alcohol test to be successful for the role.
