Safety is our top priority, ensuring every team member returns home safely.About the role:The Signalling Systems Officer provides technical support, workplace coaching, training, and assessment in the installation, maintenance, and repair of Signalling Systems and equipment. This role also involves conducting inspections and reporting on the condition of signalling equipment and the effectiveness of maintenance practices.Overview of main responsibilities include:
- Provide technical support to Network staff
- Conduct workplace coaching, training, and assessment of field staff
- Implement quality procedures for maintaining Signalling Systems
- Conduct technical inspections and audits of assets, reporting on conditions and maintenance effectiveness
- Investigate and report on signalling system incidents, failures, and performance anomalies together with testing, commissioning, and maintaining signalling equipment
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvement initiatives.
- Maintain records and documentation related to asset conditions, maintenance programs, and costing systems.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) requirements and legislative policies including work activities performed by subordinate employees
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with technical and operational specification and standards including work activities performed by subordinate employees
- Install, maintain and fault finding / repair of signalling equipment.
- Maintain all records and associated documentation relating to asset condition, maintenance programs and costing systems.
- Report on actual work performed against the scheduled work program and report any equipment performance and condition irregularities.
- Perform Protection Officer duties as required.
- Substantial knowledge of Signalling Systems and equipment, including relevant maintenance standards and safe working principles.
- High level of skill in maintenance, fault rectification, and installation of Signalling Systems and equipment.
- Ability to identify equipment performance irregularities, investigate recurring faults, and recommend improvements.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in developing maintenance procedures for electrical Signalling Systems and equipment.
- Current National Driver's License
- Certificate IV in Rail Infrastructure Rail Signalling
- Cert III Electrical Mechanic Licence
