About the Role:
As the Site Senior Executive, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the mine's operations. Your primary responsibilities will include driving operational excellence, ensuring safety compliance, managing a dedicated team, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to achieve operational targets and objectives
- Champion a culture of safety, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and implementing best practices
- Lead and inspire a team of professionals, promoting a positive work environment and facilitating career development
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to optimise productivity, efficiency, and resource allocation
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Attainment of statutory legislation exam administered by the Board of Examiners
- Interim Practising Certificate
- RIIRIS601E (or equivalent) or MINE7033; or GMIRM or MINE7041
- G1-G8-G9 (S123 Supervisor)
- RII50120 Diploma of Surface Operations Management
- RIIRIS501E Implement and maintain management systems to control risk
- BSBWHS521 Ensure a safe workplace for a work area
Essential skills & experience
- 5 years experience in mining or quarrying, of which at least 2 years have been in a supervisory role
- Extensive knowledge of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999
- Knowledge and understanding of regulatory framework for Work Health and Safety (state and national)
- Ability to manage sensitive, private, and confidential information and records
- Experience in risk assessment and management
- Extensive experience in incident investigation
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Strong computer literacy skills and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Passion for safety management
- Able to communicate effectively to large groups of workers to reiterate the required behaviours
- Knowledge of plant and equipment safety requirements within the mining and resources industry
- Experience working for a medium to large mine operator/contractor
- Working knowledge of Injury Management and Return to Work requirements
- Safety auditing experience
