Skilled Civil Construction Workers

 Interested in a wide variety of Civil Construction on the Fraser Coast. 

  • Competitive renumeration and negotiable terms - annualised wage package range $75k – $95k plus Super, based competitively against other regional companies, tailored to the applicant’s skill and experience.

About Us:

JAC Civil started in 2009 in Maryborough, on the beautiful Fraser Coast, by two brothers with a passion for engineering and construction.  Their family has lived in the area for five generations so they have a strong local connection.  They are proud of their commitment to support their community through local employment and economic contribution.

Together the brothers have grown JAC Civil exponentially over 14 years to employ over 60 people who deliver a range of projects in our local community for numerous government and corporate clients.  We are the regions most trusted project delivery partner with a diverse of specialisations in civil and structural infrastructure construction, maintenance, renewal, managing bio-solids and quarrying.  To do this, we own and operate an extensive fleet of new and well-maintained plant and vehicles with inhouse servicing capabilities.

About the role:

We are looking to employ people who are interested in a wide range of projects & Civil Operations activities, focused on quality outputs, developing skills and who collaborate well with other employees. Reporting to the onsite Civil Supervisors on a variety of regional project sites, you’ll develop / enhance our project quality and practices to drive productivity, meet timelines and contribute to a safety-first work culture. Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate a breadth of knowledge and experience in best practice skills within the Civil Construction industry and how they work and contribute to being a valued team member.  

Applicants will have proven experience and achievement in a combination of the following: road construction, footpaths, kerb & channel, storm water, drainage, headwalls, plant operations, set-up and quality finishing of a variety of concrete structures. You will demonstrate resourcefulness and flexibility, especially around utilising and sharing available resources in a small company environment, in a professional and safe manner. Ability to work autonomously, taking accountability for all aspects of allocated tasks and priorities. Proven ability to trouble-shoot to solve problems in a calm and effective manner that drives collaboration and teamwork that delivers quality outcomes.

To be successful in this role you need to be multi-skilled in some of the below:

  • Follow or request direction, being able and willing to work autonomously and take initiative to act on what needs to be done
  • Skills that contribute to road construction
  • Skills that contribute to quality installation of storm water and drainage systems
  • Read and understand construction drawings, set-out profiles and string-lines using laser level/dumpy.
  • Experience & skills in civil earthmoving equipment, Excavator, Roller, Skid Steer and HR licenses being an advantage
  • Build and lay out forms as required according to specifications with the ability to make calculations, construction of high-quality formwork for ‘pre-cast’ operations
  • Must be physically fit to perform manual handling, labouring activities and other site duties as required to meet program objectives, during machine down time, or to support the team
  • Adhere to and promote JACC’s high safety and environmental standards
