The Company

As the Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Finance & Administration functions. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be responsible for implementing the financial strategy and direction provided by the executive team. Your duties will include financial management, budget planning, forecasting, and providing insightful financial advice to support optimal business decision-making. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for finance are essential for success in this role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain compliance with financial regulations, standards, and company policies
  • Coordinate Balance Sheet reconciliations and fixed asset accounting
  • Liaise with external auditors, bank managers, and tax specialists
  • Prepare monthly accruals, journals, and depreciation schedules
  • Partner with business managers to develop annual budgets/forecasts
  • Analyse financial trends and anomalies, implementing initiatives for improvement
  • Prepare and lodge indirect tax returns such as BAS, FBT, and payroll tax
  • Forecast cash flow positions and manage cash flow projections
  • Oversee administration functions including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and invoicing
  • Assist in conducting internal reviews and strengthening internal controls
  • Undertake other duties as directed by the Commercial Director or Managing Director
  • Manage specific projects as they arise

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Business (Accounting) or equivalent Australian qualification
  • CA or CPA qualification (or studying towards)
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a similar role within a related industry
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience in costing, budgeting/forecasting, monthly reporting, and compliance
  • Ability to adapt communication style for different levels
  • Experience in fast-paced environments and with growth companies is desirable
  • Exposure to ERP systems preferred
  • Experience managing administration functions and remote teams is advantageous
