Social Support Assistant

We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to work with our Social Support Program at the Josie Black Community Health Centre in Terang, Victoria. Our program delivers centre based activities and day trips to support social connections of our community members. Our successful applicant will have:
- Experience or a desire to work in aged care/community services, with an appreciation of the unique needs of our client group
- Ability to relate to people in a caring, respectful and non-judgemental manner.
- Experience or a desire to deliver innovative group activities and day trips
- Sensitivity to issues relating to ageing, physical and intellectual disabilities, mental illness and cultural needs
Essential:
- Certificate III in Aged Care/Individual Support and/or Certificate IV in Lifestyle and Leisure or similar
- Experience and or desire to work with older people and people with disabilities living in the community
- Valid working with children check, current police check or willingness to obtain and commitment to the TMHS immunisation policy
- Level 1 First Aid training or willingness to complete
- Endorsed Victorian Drivers Licence (light rigid) or willingness to obtain.
- Qualifications in food safety (highly desirable but not essential)
