Software Developer - Game And Simulation

Cleared are supporting a highly innovative technology company who are looking to engage any software engineers with NV1 clearance or above. This is a permanent opportunity is based in Brisbane.

In this position, you'll be part of a dynamic team in a leading Defense AI company, collaborating closely with skilled Software Engineers and ML Ops engineers. Your responsibilities will involve creating and testing simulation environments, developing digital twin instances for testing and evaluation within the cutting-edge field.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Development of Simulation Environments
• Testing and recording Simulation Data
• Production of internal tools
• Creation, revision, and completion of tasks using project management software
• Contribution to the design and development of software systems in Unreal and C++
• Adherence to and suggestion of improvements to policies like programming style guides
• Organisation and commitment of work to source control
• Researching and implementing best practices
• Staying updated on industry-related topics

Qualifications & Experience:

• Possession of a quantitative tertiary degree (e.g., Games and Interactive Environments, Computer Science, Software Engineering/Development) OR relevant experience in developing complex game systems
• Understanding of Source Control and Documentation, particularly Git
• High-level comprehension of game engines
• Proficiency in coding with a C-like language (C, C++, C#, Java, etc.)
• Competence in using GITLAB and Confluence for collaborative code creation
• Ability to document work to a high standard and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary teamAbout you:
• As a seasoned and exceptionally motivated Software Engineer, you find fulfilment in computer graphics and front-end development. Your proficiency extends to crafting visually engaging interactive software applications, showcasing a distinct creative touch. Collaborating seamlessly within multi-disciplinary teams, you possess the innate skill to translate user needs into coherent workflows and accompanying visually striking interactive UIs. Your expertise encompasses working with JavaScript/Typescript web frameworks, native UI frameworks, game engines, and graphics APIs, reflecting your versatility in the field.

Valuable Supplementary Skills:

• Familiarity with Computer Vision Systems
• Knowledge of Camera and Video properties and functions
• Proficiency in GStreamer and RTSP video pipelines
• Coding ability in C++
• Experience in Unreal Engine Blueprint, Plugin/Module, and C++ integration
• Baseline or NV1 Security clearance level
