About the role
Dentons' national mortgage production teams are responsible for all facets of a mortgage matter. Key tasks are distributed amongst groups within the teams, ensuring a smooth chain of events from pre-settlement to post-settlement stages. Our large team of experienced paralegals look to our Solicitors for answers to the more curly questions that arise so no two days will be the same. Here is a brief outline of what you can expect in this role:
- Completion of tasks on residential and commercial mortgage and consents & production files to the required service level standards;
- Completing tasks in PEXA e.g. signing documents;
- Reviewing loan and mortgage documents to ensure accuracy and legal and client compliance;
- Providing assistance to the team on contracts for sale, change of name forms and overseas witnessing;
- Communicating with clients, borrowers, solicitors and brokers;
- Managing all requisitions;
- Working with Accounts Team to reconcile monetary issues as they arise;
- Providing specific training where needed;
- Attending training courses when required;
- Provide support and assistance to team members across the business unit and Banking & Finance;
- Ensuring efficient service to Dentons clients; and
- Other duties as directed.
Our ideal candidate has prepared a contract for sale, has acted for a borrower, has prepared a Will and perhaps assisted in a probate. You might be at a small firm right now where you have dealt with a variety of matters which has resulted in your impressive problem solving ability. Required:
- 3-6 yrs experience in a legal office or banking / financial services industry;
- Unrestricted practising certificate to enable operation in PEXA;
- Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne or Perth location;
- Critical thinking and problem solving ability;
- Confident decision making ability;
- Conflict management skills;
- Teamwork and collaboration;
- Ability to supervise and co-ordinate staff; and
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
