Role Description:
The Solution Architect will help deliver Digital Transformation projects - the agency is undertaking a significant digital transformation program for it's service delivery and are seeking to build digital services that are customised and personalised for the citizen experience
Responsibilities:
- Translate business requirements from different stakeholders into solution options while maintaining business-critical systems' integrity, and then proactively drive/guide the agreed deliverables.
- Produce designs that are fit for purpose, adhere to relevant standards and patterns, leverage reusable components and are coherent with wider technology domains.
- Own partnerships with cross-functional technology and design teams to ensure consistent, beneficial client interaction and solution delivery.
- Ensure that solutions are aligned with the technology strategy and coherent with those of other capabilities and technology domain roadmaps.
- Contribute to selecting specific technologies and influence business and technology stakeholders to adopt the right technology solutions.
- Escalate risks, issues and critical dependencies to the appropriate leaders as required to ensure the successful delivery of the strategy.
- Participate in the technology assurance process, building reference models and enforcing standards, patterns and reusable components.
- Ensure that legacy technology is decommissioned to manage and reduce technical debt.
- Research customer issues that may be non-standard to offer solutions.
- Estimate the cost of implementing requirements and advise on high-cost/complex aspects where these could be omitted or requirement change could result in a more cost-effective implementation.
- Guide associate architects with architecture, design and the use of best practices.
- Minimum of 7 years experience in architecture (including design and consulting) across multiple domains and technologies.
- Experience delivering end-end enterprise grade solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline essential
- Must have a holistic view of technology stacks / digital transformation - including enterprise applications, integration, infrastructure components, cloud, service models (such as SaaS, IaaS etc)
- A technical background and an understanding of networks, storage solutions, servers and operating systems that form a part of a solution stack
- Proven track record of utilising architectural management principles / architectural frameworks and related disciplines (i.e. TOGAF, ITIL).
- Experience socialising solution intent, models and process to technical (i.e. architectural review board) and non-technical audiences (i.e. Business stakeholders).
- Proficient in generating professional, detailed, and accurate documentation for Architecture artefacts with experience in technical system design specifications - based on functional and non-functional requirements and current / target state analysis
