Job Summary
Our client is a complex state government agency in the health sector, and their Health Infrastructure Technology Solutions Program is seeking three Solution Architects to commence delivery activities for several mission-critical projects:
- Integration and Migration Project: This initiative will support a POC to assess the transition and management of user data and Microsoft 365 tenancy into the current system.
- Hospital Extension and Accelerated Infrastructure Delivery Program
- Building Rural and Remote Health Program and Digital Capital Program: The total value of the program is over $1 billion, with a completion date of mid-2027.
Main Responsibilities
- Engineer fit for purpose solutions that fully encompass the architectural concerns of business, information, application, technology and security domains in alignment with Enterprise Architecture strategies, directives and standards.
- Work with Vendors to identify solution capabilities and assure strategic alignment.
- Ensure system requirements are sufficiently captured to drive the architecting of a solution that fully meets the needs and expectations of system stakeholders.
- Identify and assess the implications of applicable Queensland Health, whole-of-government and industry related policies, standards and any other constraints (including funding and schedule) that impact architectural decision-making and ensure these are appropriately reflected in the solution architecture.
- Conduct and document architectural trade-off analysis to support and justify architectural decisions made during the specification of the solution architecture.
- Consult, negotiate and communicate with system stakeholders and ICT professionals to promote shared and consistent understanding and acceptance of the proposed solution.
- Provide expert advice and communicate solution alternatives, architectural risks, issues and resulting implications.
- Manage project and operational work using project management methodologies to prioritise, organise and implement resource and work schedules.
- Develop comprehensive responses, briefs, submissions, presentations and reports to guide the development and implementation of solution architecture.
- Contribute in the development of strategic project plans and schedules, including the identification of project risks, issues and appropriate mitigation strategies.
Key requirements
- While not mandatory, professional and tertiary level qualifications in ICT, system engineering and solution architecture or similar, is highly desirable.
- Reasonable travel as negotiated may be a requirement of this position.
- Health sector, hospital related working experience highly preferred.
Selection Criteria
- Proven expertise in the development of solution architectures for complex systems inclusive of all architectural domains and ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with both internal and external stakeholders
- Proven expertise in applying solution architecture principles, practices and processes within enterprise architecture, ICT investment and governance frameworks.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities to identify, analyse and resolve technology challenges in response to business and ICT requirements.
- Proven expertise in the use of project management methodologies to assist service providers in meeting deadlines and agreed outcomes.
- Ability to establish and influence positive, strategic partnerships and collaborative working relationships with key senior executive stakeholders and key decision makers both internal and external
