About the role:
The purpose of this role is to lead solution design by ensuring fit for purpose in digitally-enabled clinical operational and project environments (including design, scope and implementation). This role will work closely with the Enterprise Architect as part of the Architecture, Design and Planning team.
- Ensure system requirements are sufficiently captured to drive the architecting of a solution that fully meets the needs and expectations of system stakeholders.
- Identify and assess the implications of applicable Queensland Government Department whole-of-government and industry related policies, standards and any other constraints (including funding and schedule) that impact architectural decision-making and ensure these are appropriately reflected in the solution architecture by evaluating and undertaking an impact analysis on major architectural options and assess associated risks and issues, ensuring that the solution architecture balances function, service, quality and system management requirements.
- Consult, negotiate and communicate with system stakeholders and ICT professionals to promote shared and consistent understanding and acceptance of the proposed solution.
- Provide expert advice and communicate solution alternatives, architectural risks, issues and resulting implications.
- Manage on-premises and cloud engagements using project management methodologies to prioritise, organise and implement resource and work schedules by defining the resources and services required to deliver solution architectures.
- Develop comprehensive responses, briefs, submissions, presentations, options analysis and reports to guide the development and implementation of solution architecture.
- Promote and ensure that appropriate methods and tools for solution architecture are adopted and used effectively, ensuring the conducting and documenting of architectural trade-off analysis to support and justify architectural decisions made during the specification of the solution architecture.
- Develop and manage relationships with and between stakeholders, including senior program/project executives, facilitating open communication and collaborative working relationships.
- Lead the development of solution architectures for complex systems, ensuring consistency with, and traceability across specified requirements within enterprise architecture and governance frameworks to ensure fit for purpose solutions.
- Manage and design interfaces for connecting to multiple systems managed by Information and Technology Services, including AUSLAB, AUSCARE, GP Connect, Genomics and Rhapsody.
- While not mandatory, a relevant qualification in industry recognised frameworks and matholodogies (e.g. TOGAF) would be well regarded.
