Situated approximately 120kms north of Bundaberg, Agnes Water & 1770 is home to Queensland’s best beaches with the Great Barrier Reef on your doorstep. As the largest venue in our beloved town of Agnes Water, we take pride in being a family-owned and operated establishment. The Role
- Develop new menu options based on seasonal changes and customer demand.
- Assist with the preparation and planning of meal designs.
- Ensure that kitchen activities operate in a timely manner.
- Resolve customer problems and concerns
- Inventory control including ordering
- Provide support to junior kitchen employees with various tasks including line cooking, food preparation and dish plating.
- Recruit and train new kitchen employees to meet restaurant and kitchen standards
- Create schedules for kitchen employees and evaluate their performance.
- Adhere to and implement sanitation regulations and safety regulations.
- Manage the kitchen team in the head chef's absence.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a busy kitchen environment.
- Excellent culinary skills and a passion for creating diverse and flavourful dishes.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen operations.
