Sous Chef
As a Sous Chef at Club Kawana, you will play a crucial role in our F&B team working alongside our other Club Chef’s. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with the Head Chef to create a range of high-quality and value-based dishes.
- Overseeing daily kitchen operations and effectively delegating duties to F&B team members.
- Assisting in delivering a consistent culinary standard to delight our members and guests.
- Assist with ordering including monitoring food costs, inventory management, and sanitation.
- Checking and ensuring the accuracy of incoming deliveries.
- Upholding kitchen hygiene standards and compliance with food safety regulations.
- Participating in staff training as required.
- Contributing to the development of standard procedures for food production and presentation.
- Ensuring kitchen equipment is properly serviced and maintained.
- Actively participating in stocktakes as required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a fast-paced kitchen environment (ideally in a community club environment).
- Culinary qualifications and a strong understanding of kitchen operations.
- Knowledge of current market trends and catering industry best practices.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and delegate effectively.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

Work Schedule:
Full-time basis with a roster including weekends and evenings.
Remuneration:
Competitive Salary above Award, dependent upon experience.
