Sous-Chef / Experienced Chef de Partie
An exciting opportunity exists at Club Mandalay, located in Beveridge 45 minutes North of the CBD. Our team is expanding and we are on the look out for a qualified Sous Chef or Experienced Chef De Partie to join our team.
Club Mandalay is a resort style golf course and leisure facility offering a gastropub style experience along with social and corporate catered events. The golf course is ranked within the top 40 public golf courses in Australia and attracts pay for play, member, and corporate play. Whilst the leisure facilities are for the exclusive use of resident members.
This position will suit a highly motivated and confident individual who takes immense pride in producing a quality food and, who pays close attention to detail, is enthusiastic, flexible and able to work in a close-knit team of chefs.
The Role
As a qualified Chef, you will assist the Head chef and the team to deliver high-quality food across the Restaurant, café, takeaway and event sectors of the Club. You will work closely with the head chef, use your innovative, fresh, and tempting food ideas to drive patronage to the Club.

Key elements of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery and experience within a commercial style kitchen
- Understanding HACCP practices.
- Maintaining safety & hygiene standards of the kitchen.
- Excited and energized by a challenging fast paced environment and can remain calm under pressure
- A passion for the industry is a must
- Have a “can do attitude”
- Have clear and effective communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously or in a team
- Experience in all areas of a commercial kitchen
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge on current food trends.
To be successful in this role the candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Previous experience as a qualified Chef in a similar environment
- A hands-on cooking skill.
- Effective communication skills with staff, management, and suppliers
- Flare, enthusiasm, and passion to cook quality dishes
- The flexibility to work over a seven-days, evenings, and public holidays
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- This is a full-time salaried position, with excellent working conditions.
