As well as running elite horse racing at Caulfield, Sportsbet Sandown and Mornington Racecourses, we also host an emerging collection of owned events such as The Mornington Festival and Sandown Super Car V8’s.
Mornington Racecourse is home to 18 race day and over 100 non race day events every calendar year. We are looking for a skilled and motivated casual Sous Chef to support our Mornington team for the upcoming racing and event season. The ideal candidate will have a desire to continuously improve and innovate, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently as well as lead a small team of kitchen staff.
Our Executive Chef and kitchen leadership team are committed to mentoring our kitchen team members providing genuine development opportunities including through our internal chef development program.
The successful candidate will be based at our Mornington site but have the opportunity to work across our three venues: Caulfield Racecourse, Mornington Racecourse, and Sportsbet Sandown.
Essential Skills
- Friendly and approachable demeanour
- Flexible availability – including some evening and weekends.
- Current Food handlers Certificate
- Industry experience and commercial cookery qualifications
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
