Position Overview: As our Senior Sous Chef, you'll lead our kitchen brigade in crafting dishes that marry the authentic flavours of the Middle East with a modern, creative flair. You'll be instrumental in driving culinary innovation, maintaining impeccable standards, and ensuring an unforgettable dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of passionate cooks and kitchen staff, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence.
- In conjunction with the Head Chef, oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation, ensuring consistency and quality at all times.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control to optimize profitability while minimizing waste and maintaining budgetary targets.
- Uphold strict standards of food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness, ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate closely with management to drive business growth, enhance the dining experience, and exceed customer expectations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Sous Chef, or Sous Chef in a reputable restaurant, preferably with a focus on Middle Eastern or fusion cuisine.
- Deep understanding and appreciation of Middle Eastern culinary traditions, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
- Creative flair and passion for pushing culinary boundaries, with a keen eye for flavour, presentation, and innovation.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and empower a diverse team.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Current food safety certification and knowledge of relevant health and safety standards.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
