Parkerville Tavern is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and committed Sous Chef to fit in with our current long-established team.
Parkerville Tavern is a well-known destination venue in the Perth Hills. The pub is busy at weekends with functions, large group bookings, and live music. We produce good quality, honest pub food with a range of vegetarian and vegan options. The Parkerville Tavern prides itself on hard work with a healthy lifestyle balance, we foster an enjoyable workplace with the values of mutual respect & integrity.
The tavern is a 40 min drive east of the city in the Perth Hills. There is very limited public transport so you must have your own reliable car.
The Sous Chef Role duties include:
- Collaboration with the Head Chef on all aspects of kitchen operations;
- Training, leadership and mentoring of the kitchen team;.
- Leading and actively participation in meal service;
- Contribution of ideas weekly for food specials and future food & beverage events;
- Maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation to ensure customer satisfaction;
- Work closely with the management teams to create, implement, and deliver quality food and guest experiences;
- Manage inventory (heavy lifting involved), purchasing and wastage to ensure cost of goods KPIs are met;
- Manage staffing levels and rostering to ensure wage KPIs are met;
- Create a supportive, enjoyable and positive working environment for all team members;
- Maintain flexible working hours to meet the operational needs of the Parkerville Tavern which is open 7 days a week, including public holidays.
What we're looking for:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, Certificate IV in Kitchen Management favourable;
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate;
- 2 years+ previous experience as a Sous Chef leading and managing a team;
- Recent experience in a busy, paced paced pub, brewery or similar;
- Experienced in menu planning and cost management;
- Ability to work 4-5 shifts per week including weekends, public holidays, and evenings.
- Full working rights in Australia.
