Sous Chef Perth Hills

Parkerville Tavern is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and committed Sous Chef to fit in with our current long-established team. 

Parkerville Tavern is a well-known destination venue in the Perth Hills. The pub is busy at weekends with functions, large group bookings, and live music. We produce good quality, honest pub food with a range of vegetarian and vegan options. The Parkerville Tavern prides itself on hard work with a healthy lifestyle balance, we foster an enjoyable workplace with the values of mutual respect & integrity.

The tavern is a 40 min drive east of the city in the Perth Hills. There is very limited public transport so you must have your own reliable car.

The Sous Chef Role duties include:

• Collaboration with the Head Chef on all aspects of kitchen operations;
• Training, leadership and mentoring of the kitchen team;.
• Leading and actively participation in meal service;
• Contribution of ideas weekly for food specials and future food & beverage events;
• Maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation to ensure customer satisfaction;
• Work closely with the management teams to create, implement, and deliver quality food and guest experiences;
• Manage inventory (heavy lifting involved), purchasing and wastage to ensure cost of goods KPIs are met;
• Manage staffing levels and rostering to ensure wage KPIs are met;
• Create a supportive, enjoyable and positive working environment for all team members;
• Maintain flexible working hours to meet the operational needs of the Parkerville Tavern which is open 7 days a week, including public holidays.

What we're looking for:

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, Certificate IV in Kitchen Management favourable;
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate;
• 2 years+ previous experience as a Sous Chef leading and managing a team;
• Recent experience in a busy, paced paced pub, brewery or similar;
• Experienced in menu planning and cost management;
• Ability to work 4-5 shifts per week including weekends, public holidays, and evenings. 
• Full working rights in Australia.
