Arafmi Ltd is a community organisation providing support for carers, their families and those they support and people with mental illness or a psychosocial disability.
Commencing as a carer self-help group in Brisbane in 1977, Arafmi has grown to now provide carer support groups throughout Queensland, employs around 150 staff and volunteers and is also a registered NDIS provider, delivering support through provision of short and medium term accommodation, supported independent living and community access supports.
These services are expanding as we continue to grow throughout Queensland.
About the role
We are currently seeking a Regional Manager for our NDIS environments and supports in the South West Queensland area with experience in managing a diverse team of support workers delivering a range of services to our clients. Experience running Supported Independent Living environments is key for this role.
The Regional Manager is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality services that respect the decisions and life choices of people with a disability.
This role is set at Level 6 of the Social, Community, Home Care & Disability Services Award and will require travel between the Arafmi Head Office in West End and the service delivery sites.
Key Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the Mental Health and Disability support sectors with people with psychosocial disabilities and complex needs in line with the NDIA Quality and Safeguarding framework requirements
- Ability to coordinate service for people living in a Support Independent Living arrangement according to NDIS guidelines
- Demonstrated capacity to provide operational leadership, driving service delivery performance, improvements, and innovation and able to lead successful change management strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and escalate operational issues appropriately
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate computer skills including knowledge of MS Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and database
- Access to personal registered motor vehicle with full comprehensive insurance
- Current unrestricted driver’s licence
- A willingness to work flexibly to contribute to the needs of the organisation
Essential Skills and experience
- Experience with managing a range of service types using a person centred model of support
- Demonstrated experience in managing a team of staff in multiple locations
- Demonstrated experience in compassionately leading teams to deliver quality services in SIL, STA and CAS environments,
- Exceptional understanding of the NDIS systems, including billing and reporting requirements
- Understanding of recovery orientated practice
- Commitment to results-informed process improvement
- Excellent attention to detail, record keeping, and process orientation
- Intermediate skill with change management
Desirable Skills and experience
- Experience in working in an on call, out of hours system for support
- Tertiary qualifications in a human service-related discipline is a bonus however considerations will be made for people with comparable skills who do not hold any qualifications
Successful applicants will also require the following;
- A Yellow/Blue Card/NDIS Worker Screening or ability to obtain these
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
- Current Drivers Licence
