We now have an exciting opportunity for aSpa Assistant Manager to support our Spa qualia team. qualia, Hamilton Island, is an oasis of Australian style, combining award-winning luxury with intuitive friendly service.
The meaning of qualia is “a collection of deeper sensory experiences” and this is what qualia uniquely delivers. Situated on Hamilton Island, qualia is a private oasis in the Whitsundays and the Oatley family’s world-class boutique luxury resort.
The Role
As the Spa Assistant Manager, your role will be pivotal in upholding the impeccable standards of our luxury spa, assisting the Spa Manager in orchestrating seamless operations, delivering exquisite service, and ensuring our guests’ every expectation is surpassed.
You will:
- Collaborate closely with the Spa Manager to oversee all facets of Spa Operations, including staff management, inventory control, and maintaining the immaculate ambience of our Spa sanctuary
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the Spa by assisting in the development and implementation of innovative initiatives to enhance guest satisfaction , drive revenue and elevate our brand presence.
- Facilitate recruitment, onboarding, and take a hands on approach to training and nurturing our team of professionals, fostering an environment of excellence and continuous improvement.
About You:
You’re passionate about the Spa industry and committed to being a leader in the field, you are dedicated to the operations and enhancing the guest experience. You are driven to guide, motivate and inspire staff members to perform at their best and foster a positive work environment.
To be successful in the role you will need:
Leadership Skills: Capability to support the spa manager in leading and motivating the team effectively, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment and leading by example.
Luxury Experience: Solid understanding of luxury spa treatments, products, and industry trends, enabling them to provide informed guidance to both staff and guests.
Problem Solving: Able to demonstrate the ability to identify issues or challenges and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
Communication Skills: You will have strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear and effective communication with both team members and guests.
You will also have:
- Experience in a spa supervisor or management role (Essential)
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification (Essential)
- Diploma of Remedial Massage or Diploma of Beauty therapy (Essential)
- Nationally recognised responsible service of alcohol qualification (Essential)
- Driver’s licence (Essential)
