About the role
We are currently seeking a Spoil Coordinator for our Sydney Metro West – Western Tunnelling Package (WTP).A consortium between Gamuda Australia and Laing O’Rourke has been awarded a $2.16 billion contract to start tunnelling on the mega Sydney Metro West project.
Construction includes the delivery of 9 kilometers of twin, metro rail tunnels between Westmead and Sydney Olympic Park; excavation of new station boxes at Westmead and Parramatta; excavation for a services facility and crossover structure at Rosehill; earthworks, utilities and connecting tunnels for a Maintenance and Stabling Facility at Clyde; and a precast concrete segment factory at Eastern Creek.
Key responsibilities
- Managing the projects spoil register
- Reviewing sub-contractors payment claims and cross checking against spoil register and disposal dockets
- Manage EPL licenses and Tip approval forms and documentation with sub-contractors and environmental department
- Obtain and file tip dockets and weighbridge reports daily from sub-contractors
- Coordination with excavation teams and environmental consultants to facilitate the waste classification process
- Coordination with site supervisors, logistics coordinators and transport subcontractors to facilitate environmentally compliant waste disposal (including the vetting of tipping facilities)
- Site observation and documentation of waste generation on-site in order to gather evidence and data to facilitate all of the above
