About the role
We are looking for a State Finance & Operations Manager to join the Elders team on a permanent, full time basis.
As an Elders State Finance and Operations Manager, you will be responsible for effective operational and financial planning, disciplined cost control and consistent business plan execution across Queensland.
You will also be instrumental in lifting the business and people leadership capabilities of the Elders team and driving engagement and uptake across our diverse range of products.
This is a senior leadership role requiring an exemplary standard of commercial acumen and financial competency. The successful candidate will be required to develop and maintain a thorough understanding of business operations in order to recommend key improvements and initiatives for Elders branches across the State.
Responsibilities
The State Finance & Operations Manager will:
- Work with the State GM to develop a State Strategic Plan in line with Elders' national objectives and strategies
- Oversee the preparation of Budgets, Forecasts and Cash Flow projections across the state, working closely with the National Finance team, and provide ongoing monitoring and insights around actual performance
- In conjunction with Finance, ensure that appropriate financial disciplines, controls, systems and policies are in place to mitigate financial risks and avoid losses across the state.
- Provide strong leadership and direction to direct reports, and broadly to the entire state
- Work closely with the State Product Managers and Area Managers to:
- Implement opportunities that grow revenue and ensures national initiatives and activities are executed.
- Lift business and people leadership capability of Branch Managers and help implement best practice management.
About you
- Extensive experience in an Operational/Commercial Manager role
- Previous responsibility for managing the budget process exceeding annual revenue of $100 million (preferred)
- Agricultural industry experience (preferred)
- Highly proficient in strategic and operational planning
- Strong financial analysis skills
- Solid communication, influencing & negotiation skills
- Proven success in managing the commercial side of a large business / division
- Degree in Commerce/Accounting (or equivalent)
- Post-graduate studies in Accounting/Management (preferred)
