What does the job look like?

Our retail business is currently seeking a State Manager to join their team. This role will support and manage the business activities of our Victorian Transport Operations while working in collaboration with our people ensuring every decision you make will be driven by safety, service, and cost.

This position will suit a focused leader who can influence strategy and continue to drive successful stakeholder relationships. You will provide proactive leadership through setting high performance standards, driving accountability, results, and constructive people management. Key Areas: 

• Participating and committing to Safety Standards and COR requirements at all times
• Responsibility for the financial performance of the contract, ensuring agreed measures for profitability and other key performance indicators for the contract are met
• Driving productivity to maximise resources throughout the state, control costs and maintain a focus on strategic initiatives
• Developing strong partnerships between operational, resourcing and planning teams to ensures maximum utilisation of staff, equipment and facilities
• Enhance customer relationship through understanding customer needs, regular personal contact and demonstrating a genuine interest in customer welfare and success
• Lead and inspire a team of transport professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement

• Demonstrable achievements in transportation operations leadership positions in a multi-site business
• Strong financial and analytical skills with high level attention to detail
• Highly developed decision-making capability, competence in making timely and effective decisions, with an ability to identify opportunities for improvement and commitment to drive outcomes 
• Experience in reporting to senior managers and customers on all aspects of workplace performance
• Highly developed computer literacy skills
