About the role
The purpose of the role is to take a student-centric approach to completing administrative and customer service functions. This role is for a 12-month contract.
Responsibilities include:
Perform administrative functions and provide excellent customer service, including:
- Attending to student queries (face-to-face, telephone or email correspondence), within appropriate timeframe
- Maintaining student records via electronic, hardcopy filing systems and Student Management Systems (SMS)
- Issuing attendance and academic progress notices to students and maintenance of records and registers
- Preparation and dispatch of academic documentation e.g., transcripts, letters, parchments and certificates
- Assisting in student events, including Orientation, Graduation and other events as needed
- Assisting with the collation of student feedback, including surveys and student representative meeting (council) attendance
- Reporting to the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) via PRISMS electronic system on student confirmation of enrolment, non-commencement, withdrawal and deferral under the direction of senior staff
- Any other duties as designated by the Student Services Manager.
The successful candidate will have good knowledge of:
- The Australian tertiary education system, such as vocational and higher education contexts, applicable external regulations and common administrative and student support practices
- The ESOS Act, the AQF and the National Code of Practice 2018
- Customer service and continuous improvement principles
- Compliance requirements with state and national accrediting organizations
The successful candidate will have good Knowledge and Understanding of:
- Knowledge of the ESOS Act and the National Code of Practice 2018
- Understanding of customer focused services and continuous improvement principles
- Understanding of compliance requirements with state and national accrediting organizations
Candidates with the following will be highly regarded:
- the Provider Registration and International Student Management System (PRISMS)
- use of student management systems for recording USI (Unique Student Identifier) and academic outcomes
- responding to student welfare issues and grievances
- AVETMISS, TCSI and other legislative reporting
- the hospitality vocational and higher education sectors
