Flinders University Academy aims to be the pathway provider of choice for students seeking to study a University Degree in South Australia. As a wholly owned, independently run subsidiary of Flinders University, the Academy delivers Flinders University’s suite of pathway courses – ELICOS, Foundation, Diploma and Pre-Masters – using innovative teaching techniques within a highly supportive environment.

About the Role
In accordance with the strategic goals and objectives of the Flinders University Academy, the Student Services Officer is a key member of the Student Services team that provides high quality student support and course enrolment and advice within the Academy.
In particular, the Student Services Officer is responsible for providing quality customer service including responding to queries from students and other internal and external stakeholders, assisting with student related administration across the student lifecycle and updating and maintaining accurate records on University systems and databases. The Student Services Officer provides high quality support relating to timetabling, assessment, results entry and student progress tasks and requirements as well as teaching and learning activities relating to the delivery of courses in the Academy.
More specifically, the Student Services Officer will be expected to:
- Achieve customer service excellence by providing student support services in a timely, accurate and empathetic manner through multiple channels including counters, telephone, email and CRM requests
- Coordinate and support student attendance requirements in the Academy, including organising and participating in meetings with students and interpreting and providing advice on the application of relevant policies and appeals processes. Ensure student progress outcomes are in line with expected course requirement outcomes and accurately reflected on the student records
- Support the annual timetabling data collection process and provide support for Teaching staff in the provision of this data in accordance with Academy deadlines.
- Provide timely and accurate data entry and maintenance for a wide range of student data in University systems including but not limited to; results entry, change of grades and supplementary and deferred assessments, leave of absence and withdrawals

Prescribed Conditions for Employment
It is a requirement of this position that the incumbent maintain a current Working With Children Check which is satisfactory to the University in accordance with the Child Safety (Prohibited Persons) Act 2016 (SA).
A valid National Police Certificate which is satisfactory to the Academy will also be required before the successful applicant can commence in this position.
Flinders University has introduced a COVID-19 Vaccination Policy that requires all new staff members to be up to date with their COVID-19 vaccinations, subject to medical exemptions and limited exemptions.
