About the Role
Located at our Raymond Terrace Campus, the Student Wellbeing Support Officer works closely with our campus team and specifically in collaboration with our Student Wellbeing Officer to support the wellbeing needs of our Alesco students. The role works to connect with students, as individuals and in groups to build rapport, provide support and assist identify barriers which are challenging the student’s engagement in learning.
This is a full-time, fixed Term position available until the 15th August 2025.
Successful applicants should be able to confidently:
- Develop rapport, gain trust and respect from students to develop lasting relationships.
- Assist the Student Wellbeing Officer’s on the purpose, benefits and expectations within Student Wellbeing in order to promote high expectations and positive outcomes for all.
- Design, develop and deliver non curriculum programs focused on life skill development or increased wellbeing.
- Support the successful implementation of wellbeing and community programs throughout all Alesco Senior Colleges.
- Provide relief as required for Student Wellbeing Officers at all campuses.
- Be available to support wellbeing and support staff in regarding the full range of practical services or program delivery solutions which may assist in dealing with student issues.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of the full range of community and wellbeing service or program delivery activities pertaining to young people’s participation in school and community and collaborates and networks effectively with allied services i.e. Youth Interagency Meetings.
About You

- Demonstrated ability to maintain complete confidentiality in the workplace and exercise judgement and discretion.
- Seek and respond positively to constructive feedback and guidance.
- Demonstrates forward-thinking and awareness of the consequences of own actions.
- Holds self and others responsible for achieving results and agreed upon targets.
- Ideally have a minimum 2 years’ Experience in individualised or group support and case management with young people.
- Ideally have Mental Health First Aid Certificate and or training.
Atwea College requires:
- Cert IV Diploma or Higher Qualifications in one or more of the following:
o Human Sciences
o Welfare/ Youth Work
o Social Sciences
o Social Work
- Valid NSW Working With Children Check and current National Criminal Police Record Check prior to the commencement of employment.
- Child Protection Training and other ongoing legislative training as required, once employed.
- Drivers Licence.
