The Role
Our Lihir operations is now recruiting for the position of Superintendent – Governance and Reportingto join the Lihir Commercial team.
You will be an important member of the team where you will be supporting the Commercial Manager to establish, embed and maintain smooth operation of the Commercial Finance function and to ensure accurate financial reporting requirements.
The role focuses on maintaining a strong financial governance, process improvement and Reporting culture.
Your key accountabilities include:
- Establish and oversee adherence to regulatory financial control requirements.
- Assist in facilitation of external and internal audits and other internal reviews.
- Promote continuous process improvement including automation of manual finance processes.
- Implement new processes and controls in response to changes in the business environment.
- Focus on financial reporting through leading technical accounting matters to ensure delivery of accurate results.
- Leadership and coaching to the broader financial planning & analysis team on best practices.
- Lead and collaborate with a diverse group of people to facilitate finance delivery and improvement activities.
Essential criteria
- Extensive experience working in a combination of commercial, professional services or management roles with a proven track record of success in leadership positions.
- Significant experience in design, implementation and guidance of accounting and Reporting required under the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act.
- Proven experience assessing control efficacy in the end-to-end finance function.
- Significant experience with senior stakeholders and influencing commercial practice decisions.
- Experience working with project management methodologies and techniques.
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business, Accounting or a related discipline.
- CA or CPA qualified.
- Experience working with technology including SAP / S4Hana and Power BI.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams.
Desirable criteria
- Mining industry experience.
- Previous experience working in a developing country, coaching, and managing a team.

- Ability to complete a pre-employment medical assessment
- Must be able to complete a National Police Check
