Superintendent Processing
Embark on a leadership journey at the Porgera Mine operations as we seek a seasoned and results-oriented Superintendent for our Processing Department. Reporting directly to the department Manager, you will wield significant influence in shaping and executing strategies to optimize processing plant performance and enhance gold recovery. As a Superintendent with extensive experience in gold processing operations, your leadership acumen and proven track record will be instrumental in navigating the complexities of our large-scale operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and implement the strategic operating plan and production budget for the Processing Department, aligning with both short and long-term objectives outlined in the Life of Mine Plan.
- Oversee and optimize the coordination among the Processing Plant, Assay Laboratory, and Metallurgy departments to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Enforce rigorous processing plant security action plans within maintenance or processing disciplines, with a sharp focus on managing non-compliance effectively.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement to ensure a safe and healthy work environment, meet environmental targets, and ensure full legal compliance.
- Foster and nurture relationships with stakeholders engaged in NPL’s mining activities, adhering closely to our Community Relations Policies.
- Lead engagement initiatives with the local community to foster positive long-term outcomes and promote alignment with the business's objectives.
- Develop and manage the department's Annual Plan and budget, ensuring close alignment with broader organizational goals.
- Promote collaboration and the sharing of common infrastructure and support services across Barrick Niugini Limited.
Requirements:
- Hold a minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience in processing operations, with a significant exposure to large, complex operations, ideally in the realm of gold processing.
- Preferably possess autoclave experience or equivalent expertise in managing large-scale processing plants.
- Possess a background in metallurgy, chemical engineering, or related fields, ideally complemented by advanced certifications or qualifications.
- Demonstrate at least 3 years of experience in a Superintendent role, showcasing a strong ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and production variance reporting effectively.
- Previous tenure as a Metallurgical Superintendent is highly advantageous.
- Exhibit strong leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to mentor and develop national leaders effectively.
- International experience in a developing country context is desirable but not mandatory.
- Display a hands-on approach to problem-solving, with a willingness to engage directly with operational challenges at various levels.
- Possess excellent collaboration skills, enabling seamless cooperation with other departments and fostering a culture of partnership and mutual accountability.
