About the role

We are delighted to announce that we are inviting applications for the role of Production Superintendent to join our Groundwater Treatment Plant (GTP) Team at the Botany Facility.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible from an operations perspective to meet the safety, quality, schedule, and cost outcomes of the operations at the GTP and to lead a team of water treaters.

What you will be doing

You will be the first point of contact for the Operations group across the program. More specifically, you will:

  • Ensure that safety, health, and environmental procedures are adhered to by all.
  • Ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the plant and meet production requirements.
  • Lead and manage team of 10-11 Water Treaters and provided engineering support.
  • Facilitate communication and review sessions with operations stakeholders.
  • Ensure operations teams are trained and capable of operating new and modified plants before commissioning.
  • Complete investigations into safety events and conduct audits on permit-to-work and Job Cycle Checks.
  • Prepare system and isolation plans for safe and efficient permit-to-work processes, plant commissioning, and start-up.
  • Work in collaboration with maintenance and technical teams to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the plant.

What you will bring

  • Degree qualification in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical) is preferred.
  • 5+ years of continuous manufacturing experience, preferably in a Major Hazard Facility, petrochemical, or chemical manufacturing.
  • Technical and/or functional business system applications are required for tasks (e.g. SAP, SF, Concur, analytics/visualization tools, SCADA, engineering software, etc.).
  • Strong ability and experience in leading, motivating, and influencing a team.
  • Exposure to change management, safety management systems, and project management from your work experiences.
  • Well-developed numerical, analytical, and systems skills.
