About the Role
An excellent opportunity exists for a qualified Mechanic to join our Workshop team in a supervisory role.
This position manages and conducts the efficient repair and maintenance of the Shire's large and diverse fleet, mechanical plant and equipment. The successful applicant will oversee the management of the workshop store and maintenance systems including supervising workshop staff, contractors and resources to accomplish repair and servicing tasks.
Other accountabilities for this position include:
Coordinate the workshop activities to provide efficient and effective scheduled, unscheduled and preventative maintenance for all plant, equipment and light vehicles.
Ensure stock levels of workshop consumables are maintained.
This position is 89.5 hours over a nine day fortnight.
About You
To be successful and thrive in this role, you will have:
Trade Certificates as a heavy-duty mechanic or equivalent and extensive experience with heavy plant maintenance
Previous experience managing fleet and workshop
Experience supervising staff
Strong communication and time management skills
HR class drivers license or ability to acquire

Salary: $118,520.68 per annum including overtime, plus superannuation
