By supporting the academic endeavour across teaching, research, and the student life, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to activities that have a lasting impact on our community.Join a community where excellence is at the core of our culture, contributions are valued and a range of are available, such as:26 weeks paid parental leave or 14 weeks paid primary caregiver leave17% superannuation contributions17.5% annual leave loadingAccess to flexible working arrangements including flexible start/finish times, purchased leave, and a condensed fortnightHealth and wellness discounts – fitness passport access, free yearly flu vaccinations, discounted health insurance, and access to our Employee Assistance Program for staff and their immediate familyOn campus childcare optionsCheap parking (from just $5.75 a day)Salary packaging optionsAbout This OpportunityThe primary purpose of the Supervisor, Student and Academic Administration is responsible for the efficient management of the School's academic and student administration team and processes to enhance the School's ability to meet its key objectives in the areas of teaching and learning.Key responsibilities will include:Supervision and TrainingManage the Student and Academic Administration team within the School, including performance and workload management and staff training.Student and Academic AdministrationCoordinate the implementation of University and Faculty directives and procedures relating to academic and student administration.Manage day-to-day processes, ensuring that all academic and student administrative tasks are completed in an accurate and timely fashion.Manage and oversee the School’s administrative processes for Academic Misconduct.Provide advice and assistance to academic staff in the interpretation of University policies and procedures relating to teaching and learning matters.Assist with planning and implementing the School's course offerings.Contribute to the review (including accreditation) of programs and courses including undertaking research, collating relevant information and preparing statistical and other trend data reports.Manage processes for, and contribute to, updating of School program and course information in relevant University databases and corporate publications, including the School website, ensuring a high level of accuracy.Manage the School’s teaching timetables in consultation with academic staff and liaise with administration staff regarding the preparation of the School’s timetable.General AdministrationAct as secretary to School’s Teaching and Learning Committee and other staff meetings, including preparation of agendas and minutes, draft reports and submissions and take other action as required on behalf of the Director.Compile and contribute to the development of the School’s academic program submissions liaising with the Faculty's Academic Administration Manager and Academic Administration Officers as appropriate prior to consideration/approval by Faculty and University committees.Manage and oversee the administration of the allocation, hiring and payment of casual academic staff.Contribute to the development and review of School policies and procedures relating to coursework program and student administration and manage dissemination and implementation.Maintain and manage information systems to record academic decisions and processes that relate to coursework students and programs.Coordinate the preparation of reports on a wide range of student information and statistics, benchmarking studies and quality indicators. This includes retrieving and collating data from corporate systems and other internal and external information sources, analysing and interpreting data and presenting information in appropriate formats.Participate in relevant Faculty and University forums on Student and Academic program administration. Disseminate information to academic and administrative staff members as appropriate.Contribute to and maintain the School’s business process calendar and operational plan.Undertake other duties consistent with the above as may be required from time to time.FinanceAssist the School Manager with administration of the Teaching and Learning budget.This is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position for up to 12 months.At HEW level 7, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $96,649.64 - $105,244.58, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $113,080.08 - $123,136.15 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.About YouEssentialCompletion of an undergraduate degree, with at least four years subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.Relevant administrative experience in a tertiary education institution or other educational services provider, including a minimum of two years at an intermediate level successfully managing staff to achieve effective outcomes.Detailed knowledge of the University's policies and procedures in relation to Student and Academic Administration; or demonstrated capacity to rapidly acquire this knowledge.Excellent interpersonal skills (including written and verbal communication), with experience in liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including the ability to provide advice and negotiate to achieve desired outcomes.Demonstrated ability to train and provide team leadership to a small group of staff.High level analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to perform statistical analyses, explain data trends and develop innovative solutions to problems; and a proven ability to interpret, develop and implement policy relating to Student and/or Academic Administration.Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team, managing workloads and multiple projects in an environment characterised by tight and competing deadlines.Ability to use sound judgement and initiative in non-routine situations and adaptable to change.High level of computer skills, in particular the Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook) and other specialist software applications and databases (e.g. Business Objects, SI-net) or the ability to rapidly gain such knowledge.DesirableExperience in using the University’s information systems and reporting tools or demonstrated capacity to rapidly acquire this knowledge.In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
