Australian Lifestyle Support Solutions (ALSS) is a small local boutique style service to NDIS participants in the Wide Bay Region. Our team consists of friendly individuals that have been trained to provide day-to-day supports tailored to meet the needs of many participants Our team is experienced quirky, bubbly and friendly. Our sole aim is to enable our participants to achieve their goals. ALSS works together with the community to provide support and services to the home care and maintenance needs of NDIS clients. Our mission is to achieve participants goals by providing real solutions. We endeavour to have a positive impact on as many people’s lives as possible through NDIS support. We believe in empowering our participants by working with them to exercise choice, control, and capacity whenever we can. We have a fast-growing participant base and people awaiting our services.
Qualifications & experience
- Certificate IV in Mental Health (or equivalent) as required by NDIS regulations. Significant experience in a support coordination role 3-5 years will be advantageous. Significant experience in a complex mental health role 3-5 year will be advantageous.
- Demonstrated understanding of National Disability Insurance Scheme and Community Support Programs including participant planning, milestone reporting, price guides, assistive technology, home modifications, mandatory reporting.
- Quality and Safeguards Commission Demonstrated experience with referrals to external services supporting participants to meet their needs and maximise their supports.
- Demonstrated experience in working flexibly in a similar environment and providing service and support to a board range of participants with varying needs, with minimal supervision.
- A high level of professionalism in being able to manage your time effectively and the ability to work effectively under pressure. High level verbal and written communication skills. Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, organisational and planning skills.
- Experience working with diverse groups including mental health conditions, LGBTQIA+ community and a diverse range of disabilities. A demonstrated ability to work as a part of a collaborative team whilst also being able to work independently.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Work with participants to achieve their goals in line with their NDIS Plan. Use a coaching approach to assist participants in capacity building. Maintain accurate and up to date case notes on participant progress and ensure this is entered in a timely manner.
- Ensure Work Health and Safety guidelines are adhered to. Engage with clients, their supports and 3rd party organisations in a professional manner. Undertake work in line with the organisations policies, procedures, and values. Comply with all relevant legislation and codes of conduct.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the NDIS systems and practices. Some out of hours work may be required. Provide social work and at times mental health services across the age spectrum from child to adult.
