About the Role
This role of the Support Worker is to provide exceptional service whilst supporting Interact Australia’s clients to meet their goals as set out in their NDIS plan. This includes;
- Working autonomously to provide appropriate levels of support to maintain and improve the client’s level of independence. This may include community participation, skill building, vocational preparation, relationship building, and various other needs.
- Respond to the client’s needs and collaborate positively with their families, support people and others in their lives.
- Keep accurate and complete records of activities via progress notes
- Work within the NDIS Code of Conduct
Who you are
To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who has Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent), and the following attributes;
- Working with Children
- NDIS Worker Screening
- Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- An understanding of NDIS and a commitment to its principles
- Experience with high care needs including, Personal care, the use of Hoists and other Manual handling apparatus, and Community access
- Willingness to provide domestic assistance
- A passion for assisting individuals with a disability to improve their quality of life and to reach their potential
- Driver's Licence and own car, and a willingness to use for transporting clients (where required, mileage reimbursed)
Please note: The successful candidate will be required to participate in an Australian Federal Police check, NDIS Quality and Safeguards Worker Screening and a Working with Children Check, prior to confirmation of appointment to the position.
The successful candidate will also be required to demonstrate entitlement to work in Australia, and to disclose any pre-existing injury or disease which may be adversely affected by undertaking the inherent requirements of the position.
