Suncare Support Worker - what's involved in the role?
This is a rewarding community-based role where you will be supported by engaged managers and have ongoing support.
We are seeking a Permanent Part-Time Support Worker (30 hours per fortnight) to provide support to our Gympie customers.
Your ideal fortnightly roster will be:
- Week 1: Monday and Wednesday: 8.30am-3pm.
- Week 2: Monday, Wednesday: 8.30am-3pm; and Saturday 7.30am-2pm.
However, your roster will be dependent on your availability and there may also be the opportunity to gain additional hours depending on your availability and operational requirements. At Suncare our team typically provides support to our customers between 7am - 7pm Monday to Friday.
The role of a Suncare Support Worker actively supports the individual needs of aged people who are living at home, either independently or with family. No two days are the same with our customers and may include delivering personal care, household domestic assistance (cleaning bathrooms, mopping, dusting), meal preparation, accompanying them on shopping trips, appointments, community activities, providing general companionship, and helping them build social networks.

While a background or qualification in community services would be advantageous, more important are the attributes that you possess that speak to our values. For this position you will be required to be physically fit, hold a valid Queensland Driver's licence and be willing to use your own vehicle for work purposes, ensuring that your vehicle is appropriately insured. A National Police Check and CPR and First Aid certificates are also required in this position. You will also have the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
