Five Bridges Ltd is a non-profit organization committed to supporting the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through our Murri Sisters Mobile Support Service (MSMSS). We are dedicated to reducing domestic and family violence (DFV) and empowering our communities through culturally informed support and services.
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated DFV Support Worker to join our team. This role involves providing essential support and services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, children, and young people affected by domestic and family violence. The Support Worker will ensure the delivery of respectful, client-focused, and culturally sensitive support.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement client-focused service delivery goals.
- Manage case intake, case management, referrals, documentation, and follow-up for clients, ensuring all processes are secure and respectful.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration with other agencies to enhance service provision.
- Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to the development of program policies and guidelines.
- Maintain compliance with all organizational policies and legislative requirements.
Essential Selection Criteria
- Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
- Unrestricted Queensland Driver's License and reliable personal transport.
- Current Holder of a Commission for Children & Young People Blue Card.
- First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
- Relevant qualifications in Community Services or related fields, or currently undertaking such qualifications.
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, particularly in contexts of domestic and family violence.
