We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and passionate Disability Support Worker to join the team at Bro Support Services located on the Gold Coast (Northern NSW - Northern Gold Coast area)
This will be a Casual Role with potential of becoming full time hours
The Role
Being a proactive, energetic, and flexible Support Worker with the participants. Willing to assist them with daily activities, community access and build a strong, trustworthy and long lasting relationship with the participants.
Daily tasks include but not limited to;
Attending the gym, walks within the community, attending sporting events, assisting in driving (participants who have their learners), securing a job and supporting them in the workplace, travelling and participating in outdoor activities i.e fishing, bush walks, hiking, bike riding and more! A level of fitness is required for this role
To be successful for this position you will require.
- Experience of working with people with disabilities, challenging behaviour and anxiety.
- Strong Communication skills
- Have patience and an understanding for the different challenges of each individual
- Demonstrated experience/knowledge in working with people with disability
- Be comfortable working independently as well as an active team member
- Flexibility and availability is essential in this role, with the ability to work a variety of shifts; morning, day, afternoon, evening, night and weekends
