This role involves working Friday 2pm - 9pm, Saturday 9am - 3pm, and one to two mid week shifts.

We are a Tier 3 community housing body and the largest Specialist Homelessness Service in Regional NSW. We operate 9 crisis shelters, two Community Centre's and more than 50 outreach properties, housing over 150 people across the Central Coast every night.

The Role
We are looking for an outstanding Social inclusion Support Worker to assist and work with case workers in their daily delivery of care to clients, while having the flexibility to work independently and with the responsibility for the supervision, care, and support of clients either or both Friday nights and Saturdays.
This role is responsible for designing and implementing free and low cost activities for men within our service. Working within Coast Shelter’s specialist homelessness service for men, you will assist with providing a safe environment and access to personal support programs for those who are experiencing homelessness on the NSW Central Coast.
Success in the role will demand an understanding of the causes and impact of homelessness and an empathic approach to those in our community who may find themselves on the outer: homeless and disadvantaged.
All about you
You have a strong background and passion for working within services geared towards men experiencing homelessness. You focus on working within a clear, client centred, trauma informed framework and have a demonstrated understanding of mental health and drug and alcohol issues.
To be considered for the position you must be able to address the essential criteria below;
- Relevant Diploma and/or minimum 3 years’ experience in case management.
- Experience and demonstrated ability in providing high quality crisis intervention and advocacy support for people with complex needs
- Ability to motivate and engage with all walks of life
- Proven ability to maintain boundaries and respond to challenging behaviours
- Excellent communication with proven written and oral communication skills
- Intermediate computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office
