Position Purpose

You will be responsible for providing in-home care to clients with spinal cord injury - assisting with personal care, outings and shopping, cooking and domestic assistance.

Our client (female) requires assistance with planning, shopping and some domestic duties. You will also be required to drive her to various appointments.

Key Selection Criteria

• Experience providing caring, high quality care support to people with disability and complex health needs.
• Qualification in disability support/individual support.
• A positive attitude and responsible nature.
• Demonstrated commitment to community integration and consumer participation, and commitment to HCS values.
• Excellent verbal communication and rapport building skills.
• Shifts are available for 3 hours per day, over 3 days per week. Hours may change to due to clients schedule, so flexibility is a must.

Preferred:

• Spinal Cord Injury Experience
• Bladder management 
• Stoma care  

You must hold (or be willing to obtain);

• Current National Police Check
• Driver's license is essential
• Current Yellow Card or National Disability Worker Screening Clearance
• Right to work status
• Formal qualification in disability support/individual support
