We have an exciting career opportunity for a passionate and driven Sustainability Manager to join our growing Stockland Sustainability Team. This role will be responsible for partnering with the business to support delivery of best-in-class environmental initiatives to deliver on our ESG Strategy and Targets and our Climate Transition Action Plan. The aim is to embed sustainability performance across projects and assets to create value for the business, and support community and stakeholder needs.
This role will be based in Sydney.
The Opportunity - About the Role
Working closely with the Group Environmental Sustainability Manager and the broader sustainability team, you will be responsible for providing environmental sustainability advice and support to key enterprise initiatives, as well as project teams for the planning, development and delivery of projects and assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to operationalisation of Stockland's ESG Strategy by developing and enhancing plans and processes on enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Provide expert sustainability advice to project teams and business leaders aligned to our sustainability workstreams, identifying priorities and initiatives for impact and developing a commercially sustainable value proposition.
- Partner with our business leaders to drive high performance in sustainable outcomes towards meeting our ESG targets, through the implementation of visioning, initiative prioritisation and development, objectives alignment and coaching.
- Contribute to team success by working collaboratively with team members; assisting team members when needed; sharing ideas, knowledge and experience; and supporting team development.
- Provide strategic sustainability advice to Leaders, including interpreting and applying industry knowledge and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Support delivery of sustainability programs of work to deliver impact and performance outcomes
- Integrate previous experience with innovative approaches to identify organisational improvement initiatives to business outcomes.
- Oversee, track and report on sustainability performance across the business.
About You
- Property industry experience preferred, across master planned communities, land lease communities, or commercial property
- Strong project management skills and track record
- Strong appreciation of business and customer value drivers
- Strong influencing skills and business partnering experience with the capacity to achieve outcomes through collaboration with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Strategic planning or program implementation history
- Demonstrated experience working closely with project-based teams to achieve local / regional environmental outcomes and expanding for portfolio scale and impact
- Experience with and understanding of sustainability rating tools (Green Star/WELL/NatHERs)
- Ability to contribute to environmental data collection, measurement, analysis and reporting
