About the Role
The Science and Surveillance Group (SSG) LIMS Assistant System Administrator is a critical role in the Modern Technologies and Diagnostic Tools (MTDT) project team. The position's primary role is in the development of system and training documentation for the new Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
The position will also support the Project Manager and LIMS Administrator by working with laboratory and operational members to understand end-to-end process workflows, drive process re-engineering initiatives and facilitate software showcase sessions to Subject Matter Experts.
Duties
- Provide vendor management support and work on future upgrades, modifications, and other business needs within the LIMS.
- Develop LIMS processes that are validated and fit for purpose, ensuring that all areas of the business processes are being considered.
- Perform server administrator tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, research event log warnings and errors and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly.
- Administer functional updates to systems, including migration of new/enhanced configuration and module changes between development, testing, and production environments.
Knowledge and Experience
- Experience in requirements elicitation within a continuous improvement, corporate systems and Agile project environment.
- Experience in the development of user stories, use cases or other modern elicitation techniques.
- Knowledge and understanding of the analytical requirements of a diagnostic laboratory.
- Knowledge in any programming languages and database management system.
What's on offer
The successful candidate will notionally be offered a non-ongoing 12month contract at the APS6 level. This position is based in Canberra. There will also be a requirement to travel as necessary to laboratories in Australia.
