The Opportunity
Working in a dedicated team of tool makers, you will use your expertise in precision machining & extensive tool making capability to develop tooling, moulds, jigs and fixtures used in the cochlear manufacturing system to produce high quality components used in our implant and sound processor units.
Your responsibilities include:
- Manufacturing specialised tooling, moulds, jigs and fixtures that are used in our medical device manufacturing process
- Manufacturing precision components on a CNC Mill & Lathe
- Supporting the development of tooling for new products
- Ensure appropriate application of GMP
- Collaborate and execute requests from the engineering teams in support of the development of new products
- Repairing/refurbishing existing specialised tooling, electrode dies, injection moulding components and surgical instruments
- Identifying improvements to apply to the toolroom ensuring consistent compliance to GMP, quality standards and safe work practices
- Good Communication skills
- Toolmaking/Fitter Machinist trade certification
- Experience working with AS1100
- Sound knowledge of metrology standards
- Interest in medical devices & manufacturing industry
- Ability to work within an agile and collaborative environment
