RACT is embarking on a significant transformation journey to help us continue to deliver improved benefits to our members and we have an exciting new position available in our Finance team for a Systems Accountant.

About you:

  • You’re a qualified professional who holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting or commerce. It is highly desirable that you are CPA or CA qualified​.
  • You have advanced D365 systems experience.​
  • You will have a thorough understanding of report writing tools and experience in developing, controlling and maintaining financial data.​
  • You will have effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) with demonstrated ability to convey and explain information, coherently and confidently to a range of audiences​.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify key issues, compare with other data, determine cause-effect relationships, evaluate and recommend effective solutions for an acceptable outcome​.
  • Ability to seek out information and break down problems and situations to reach a viable solution​.
  • Demonstrated ability to cope with pressure and manage time by establishment of process to accomplish goals utilising appropriate resources, and ability to prioritise ​.
  • Strong computer literacy, particularly with common office applications.
  • High level of proficiency using accounting systems.
  • Commitment to process improvement and innovation.​
  • Ability to create an environment of collaboration and cross-functional teamwork.​

About the role:

  • Monitor and reconcile finance system integrations to various other systems to ensure system accuracy and integrity of data. ​
  • Arrange the prompt resolution of variances through established defect remediation processes and mechanisms in place within the organisation.​
  • Collaborate with the Finance Team,  IT Team and external stakeholders to resolve finance system issues.​
  • Maintain and manage the Chart of Accounts and master data contained in D365 and supporting systems to ensure effective operation and functionality in support of reporting structures.​
  • Provide and implement recommendations for continuous improvement of current financial systems and processes.​
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant international and Australian accounting standards and practice, legislation, policies and reporting frameworks.​
  • Prepare and maintain system financial report models to assist the finance team and stakeholders with reporting, planning and decision making.​
  • Authorises system access to ensure security and integrity of the financial system and assist in the planning and implementation of system upgrades including testing, training and change management​.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of system training documentation.
  • Development and monitoring of BCP procedures and testing​.
  • Assist with month end and year end tasks as directed by the Group Financial Controller​.
  • Process optimization and trouble-shooting the finance and related systems, including the logging and ongoing follow-up of bug fixes through formal channels.​
  • Contribute to systems-related projects on behalf of the finance team through the identification, design and implementation of system process improvements.
