The Opportunity

The ICT team here at Telethon Kids are dedicated team of professionals who provide a continuous high-quality service and great end-user experience. With over 1000 users across multiple locations, our mission is to create a borderless collaboration space which is secure, always accessible and available through any modern device.

We are now looking for a Systems Administrator to play an instrumental role in maintaining the day-to-day operational stability of the organisations ICT environment. This role focuses on ensuring the efficient functioning of servers, networks, and systems, providing technical support to end-users, and implementing security measures. The Systems Administrator also collaborates on projects to enhance the overall reliability and performance of the IT infrastructure.

Some of your duties will include, but not be limited to;

  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and maintenance tasks to ensure the security and stability of servers.
  • Implement and manage virtualization technologies, optimizing server resources and ensuring efficient operations.
  • Configure and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security appliances to protect against external threats.
  • Implement and manage backup solutions, ensuring data integrity and the ability to recover systems in case of failures.
  • Support the implementation of new technologies, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.

Conveniently located at Perth Children's Hospital, this role will be offered on a full-time basis.

About You

The ideal applicant will have significant experience supporting 1000+ users spread across divers locations and will value being part of an innovative, high performing team that strives to exceed expectations.

Along with this, your application must also be able to demonstrate the following;

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field or relevant qualifications.
  • Previous experience in a systems administration or related role.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in server administration, network configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Recent knowledge and experience in security implementation, principles and compliance.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to portray technical information to a wide range of stakeholders with varying technical knowledge.
