Purpose of the Role

The Systems Engineer is responsible for delivering technology solutions and operational services that support critical workloads across on-premises infrastructure and hybrid cloud resources, system patching and upgrades with a focus on continuous improvement through the ownership of platform roadmaps.

Position Accountabilities

• Ensure platform performance, stability, and security.
• Drive continuous improvements for reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
• Lead infrastructure innovation for enhanced performance and reliability.
• Develop technical roadmaps and implement improvement opportunities.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies for cloud migration and cost reduction.
• Collaborate with DevOps for automated deployment and maintenance.
• Implement proactive monitoring and alerting tools.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and industry standards.
• Provide expert technical support to technology teams.
• Contribute to knowledge base and procedure enhancement.
• Mentor junior staff for skill development.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 3+ years of relevant experience with tertiary qualifications or industry certifications.
• Ability to communicate technical solutions effectively.
• Advanced problem-solving and implementation skills across technologies such as; Microsoft, VMware, vSphere, NetApp Storage, Citrix ect.
• Excellent understanding of systems security and administration practices.
• Proficient in stakeholder management and communication.
• Capable of handling multiple tasks within prioritized frameworks.
• Familiarity with project management frameworks.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering customer-focused outcomes.
